Ambition is the driving force behind the American Dream.
The wise, nonviolent human rights activist Gandhi once said, "A small body of determined spirits fired by an unquenchable faith in their mission can alter the course of history." People often shy away from a task that seems too large to tackle alone. Thoughts like, "What can just one person do? One person can't change the world." are the thoughts that run through the mind of an undetermined activist. Gandhi simply stated, if a small body of people have the determination to change the world, they have the power no matter the size. All you need is determination to be able to alter history.
King's words proved to touch the hearts of millions of people and gave the nation a vocabulary to express what was happening to the black Americans....
In America, the American Dream allows dreams to become realities.
I thank everyone who has played a role in breaking the chains of ignorance against any heritage group, because I today, being Hispanic I am living the dream. A dream without any discrimination as to where I come from , or the color of my skin, but by the content of my character. I have been given the right to educate myself, and pursue those goals that I may choose. My goals of finishing high school and going to study in the field of healthcare are real because of the rights that have been granted to us. Being an immigrant this dream has helped me pursue the goals of succeeding and helping others just like I've been helped. I thank those who have sacrificed their time, and perseverance to have given me the right to follow my dreams. The dream is happening and I am a pure example of that.
He gave us a path which to follow if we were to live side by side, and this past election America showed once again that the dream lives by electing the first African American president. This comes to show that history is not prescribed by color or heritage group but by great leaders who seek change to benefit everyone. In my life I have seen great destruction of morality, caused by barriers of cultural differences. I ask for a country, no less, a world where you live is the only difference that separates us. A world where there is no hate, where you can look at any person and grim a smile. A world where you are not put down because your incapacities, but rather a world where you are looked upon as a human being who has flaws and commits mistakes.

gave the speech “I Have a Dream” that impacted the nation.
Finally, armed with this knowledge, we can take it out into the world around us and use it in ways we didn't think possible. Whether it's keeping your cool at work, volunteering on your neighborhood, or striving to end wars across seas, peace is only met by you and me, regular people trying to make a difference. "... But it is also securing the space for others to contribute the best that they have and all that they are." — Hafsat Abiola.
In the “I have a dream” speech given by Dr....
Global peace has been the topic on our minds for decades. It is this inevitable peace that binds our state of mind today. We feel this way because so many generations of people have tried, yet this peace is always interrupted by people's differences, those differences that make us who we are. But it is using these differences to our advantage and to our greatest that peace is going to be acquired. We need to accept these differences, rather than cover them up and let each other know how we feel for this 'inevitable' peace to grow. We must help our friends, and make amends with our enemies. World peace is not as far from our grasp as we think.
made an enormous impact in the world that we live in today.
They make their God to rain fire and brimstone upon Sodom and Gomorrah and belch fire and smoke upon mount Sinai, as if he was the Pluto of the lower regions. They make him salt up Lot's wife like pickled pork; they make him pass like Shakespeare's Queen Mab into the brain of their priests, prophets, and prophetesses, and tickle them into dreams, [NOTE: "Tickling a parson's nose as 'a lies asleep, Then dreams he of another benefice." (Rom. and Jul.) -- Editor.] and after making him play all kinds of tricks they confound him with Satan, and leave us at a loss to know what God they meant!
What they accomplished was part of the American Dream.
Is man ever to be the dupe of priestcraft, the slave of superstition? Is he never to have just ideas of his Creator? It is better not to believe there is a God, than to believe of him falsely. When we behold the mighty universe that surrounds us, and dart our contemplation into the eternity of space, filled with innumerable orbs revolving in eternal harmony, how paltry must the tales of the Old and New Testaments, profanely called the word of God, appear to thoughtful man! The stupendous wisdom and unerring order that reign and govern throughout this wondrous whole, and call us to reflection, 'put to shame the Bible!' The God of eternity and of all that is real, is not the God of passing dreams and shadows of man's imagination. The God of truth is not the God of fable; the belief of a God begotten and a God crucified, is a God blasphemed. It is making a profane use of reason. -- Author.]
Their job is to make the American Dream possible for others.
A courageous man with polio who could no longer walk at ease brought the world’s aggressors to their knees as we triumphed in victory at the close of World War II.
